Synchronization of AD user accounts
If you are using the ACE AD Adapter sub product, user accounts can be imported to Telia ACE from the Microsoft Active Directory service.
A file with user accounts can be extracted from an AD and be loaded into ACE AD Adapter. Then in order for ACE Database to accept synchronization from ACE AD Adapter, the concerned organisation areas must be specified as described in the document Configuration Instructions ACE AD Adapter.
A user account created via ACE AD Adapter is seen in ACE Admin
- in a specific subarea named Import,
- with a specific access role named Import, which does not include any access functions.
Anyone going to administrate imported users must be given
- access rights to the Import subarea,
- a role with the access rights to configure user with the Import role.
The descriptive name automatically set for subarea and access role, Import in the example above, can vary depending e.g. on the installed language in ACE Database.

- An authorized GroupLeaderA filters the window contents by choosing the Import subarea.
- Here the names of Employee1 and Employee2 are seen as imported new users.
- GroupLeaderA connects Employee1 to the subarea TeamA, and then continue to update his skill profile etc.
- As Employee2 is to be included in TeamB, GroupLeaderA leaves this account to be handled to GroupLeaderB.
The window is explained in Basics about user accounts.
Initial setting is made in the Synchronization of AD user accounts window, by accredited users with elevated access.
