Tools and FunctionsThis feature requires the Service node to run SQL Server.
The Tools and Functions window lets you execute certain pre-defined functions in the Service node database.
- Function
- Select the desired function to execute from this drop-down list of available functions
- Right next to the drop-down list a text box displays a brief description of the selected function.
- Input
- If the selected function requires one or more input values, these are displayed in a table, one named column per expected parameter. The parameters can be of one of the types
- String - arbitrary text
- Integer - only integer numbers are allowed
- Datetime - a date and time
- Telephone number - a telephone number in canonical form
- Execute
- When the desired function is selected and – where applicable – any input parameters are entered, click this to execute the function.
- Output
- Most functions are mere inquisitive functions and will return a data set, which will be displayed in a standard table where you can process the result further if you whish, by sorting, filtering and exporting the data.
- Some functions are mainly manipulative functions that will modify the data rather than just reading it, and these will most likely not return any data set, only a result code explaining whether the function executed successfully or not. In these cases a text box with the result will be displayed in stead of the output table.
