Call records’ import file format window
In Campaigns window, opened from Media | Outbound telephony | Campaigns... menu choice, there is a button opening the Campaign records window. From Campaign records you can open a call records’ Import guide window via icon
.
At import guide step number two you can select the Settings… button opening the Campaign file format configuration window, where you define the file format applicable for the address file import for the selected campaign.
In the left part of the Campaign file format configuration window you enter your format settings. At the bottom right you see the results in form of a Preview of campaign records mapped to the Input file displayed above.
The overall file format
- Skip initial rows
- The number of rows to be skipped when fetching records. Can be e.g. title lines at the top, before the address records begin
- Column delimeter
- Specify the character that separates the columns, i.e. is used as a divider in the indata file
- Input file
- In the top right part of the window you see the first 20 rows of a temporary, saved copy of the input file. You enter the numbers of these columns under Column mapping down to the left
Column mapping
Under Column mapping header you specify the connection between the campaign’s contact data keys and the columns in the address file.
Select the contact data keys to correspond to the various columns and specify by a figure in which of the address file columns you find the contact data key.
Contact data keys for telephone numbers to be called are mandatory. At least one of the telephone numbers 1-3 contact data keys must have a value. Also you must specify in which of the columns in the address file, telephone numbers can be found.
Default values for campaign records are applicable to all records in the campaign. Select format settings for:
- Priority
is entered with an integer between 1 and 9. - Status
can for all records can be set to open, closed or paused. - Errand type
is the name for each contact data key value set. The imported records will assume these values, unless the imported material specifies other values.
In the bottom right part of the window you see a preview of the first 20 records. The picture is successively updated as you make various settings to the left.
Add, modify or remove column mapping
To add a mapping you can choose between
- right clicking to open a context menu and then selecting Add,
- double-clicking just below the bottom mapping in the list, or
- having your focus in the white field and pressing the Insert key on your keyboard.

At the top right of the file format window you see the first 20 rows of the file in their original shape. The address file recorded is a copy of your address file, temporarily created by ACE Admin in the temp folder in your computer. This file is removed when the import function is closed.
At the bottom right you see a preview of the first 20 records, the selecting mapping between the columns in the address file and the selected contact data keys. Updates of the preview are shown as you make various settings and changes in the format.
To remove a mapping you select the row in question and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
To change key names and/or associated column you select, for the row in question, another contact data key from the drop-down menu and another figure under the title’s column.
OK saves your changes and closes the window, unless the database returns an error code when the changes are being saved. To undo changes, click on Cancel.
Troubleshooting import of call records
Should the given format not be considered correct by ACE, the OK button is not available. Instead you see a red text at the bottom left of the window. Moving the mouse pointer over the preview list shows a help text describing what is wrong. Possible errors can e.g. be:
- No divider is specified, i.e. the Other radio button is ticked but the affiliated text field is empty.
- No column number is selected for the Telephone number to call contact data key.
- You have specified a non-existing column, i.e. you have entered the figure 11 for example, but there are only 10 columns.
- If the Dialing start time contact data key is mapped to a column all records in the file must have a valid time entered in this column and the time stamp format must be YYYYMMDD hh:mm:ss.
