Close email, both contact and letter

The Close button is available when an email is established, and is used for ending the contact in ACE Agent. You can also end the email contact via the Contact handling | Close menu choice, or by pressing the F11 key.

You send an outgoing email by clicking on the Send button. When you have sent an email, the Mail reply support function is closed. If your outgoing email was a reply to an incoming email, the Received mail support function will be available again, as will the Answer button.

When you click on Close the contact in progress is ended. You do not have to click on the button if you, in a client setting, have specified that an email contact shall be ended directly when you click on Send. If a reply to an email has been initiated and not yet been sent, it will vanish entirely when you end the contact. Independent outgoing emails, however, are not closed. Both Mail reply and New mail are closed when an email is sent, or by the use of the Cancel button.

You can also close emails that have not yet been routed to ACE Agent, via Interaction View.

Close email processed in a separate program

If your organisation use a separate e-mail application the email contact is ended in the same way as for those processing emails in the built-in email functions in ACE Agent. The Close button you end the contact. Note that your copy of the email remains in the Inbox of your email program. You should make it a habit to throw away these copies, unless your company has other specific routines for this.
