Start objects
Each dialogue flow has at least one start object, specifying where the dialogue flow is started.
The connection to a start object is either done via the access number or by a call from the Goto or Gosub objects.
If there is one or more access numbers connected to a start object, this is seen in the list of flow objects in the start view, as an icon. This is also where you can see the relevant access numbers by moving your mouse pointer over the icon.
The start object has some unique attributes such as i.a. three exits with fixed names and descriptions.
On the Exits tab you see:
- Open
- The call flow is routed here if the current entrance in ACE is
open
. - Closed
- The call flow is routed here if the current entrance is
closed
in ACE. - Error
- The call flow is routed here in case an error occurs while executing this start object.
Usually all exits point to the same flow object. Closing is then instead handled through a Switch object.
Parameter assignments can be made in start objects in the same way as in menu objects. However, the assignments in the start object apply to the entire start object and not just a selected exit as in menu objects.
Categories
To be able to group dialogue flows logically, you can assign different categories to the Start objects. You can e.g. use categorizing to be able to later find this specific start object, for a jump from another dialogue flow.
In the Categories tab you can then select the category or categories that distinguish the relevant start object.
The categories are described in the list and are consequently omitted in this manual. A few examples:
- BNoStart
- Enables the start object to be used by an access number.
- Competence
- Used in start objects/dialogue flows that will be handling routing to agents.
- Hangup
- Used in start objects leading to the call being ended.
- Local
- Used in start objects that shall be accessible from jump objects in the same dialogue flow.
