Configure SIP phones

Desktop phones are normally configured upon delivery, and you only have to connect the phone to a power outlet and a network socket. However, in some cases the administrator has to configure the phone by assigning the phone to the right user, and to set Location.

For administrators only.

Assign a phone to the right user

  1. Log in to ACE Voice Web.
  2. In Admin view, go to Devices > SIP-phones.
  3. In the list, select the phone, i.e. click the Mac address that is to be configured.
  4. At the bottom of Edit SIP phone;
    1. Under the headline Function keys, select Line in the Type column.
    1. Write the users name in the search field. In the opening list, click on the users name for its information to show up under Value.
    2. Click on Save and on Reboot phone.

Set the phone's location

For emergency calls to be routed correctly it is important that the setting for Location match the geographic location of the phone!
  1. Log in to ACE Voice Web.
  2. In Admin view, go to Devices > SIP-phones.
  3. Select the phone, i.e. click the Mac address that is to be configured.
    1. At the top of Edit SIP phone, by Location, choose the right geographic location from the list.
    2. At the bottom of Edit SIP phone, click on Save and on Reboot phone
